Unexpected

Last week on Twitter, there was a bunch of Lord of the Rings Online talk.  It got me thinking about the game, which is always trouble.  I've had an account at LoTRO since I first played it in 2007.  WAR came along and stole me away, since I primarily played Monster Play.

Since things are in a bit of a lull right now, I debated whether or not to play again.  Then I remembered, it is "free."  So after a long download, I was in.  It has been a while since I played my Level 21 Hobbit Burglar... and I was pretty lost.

After I killed a nearby bear, I gained 3 levels.  They must have changed the XP requirements, so now I am level 24.  I didn't have a mount, so that was priority number one.  Then I remembered Skirmishes were put in,of course I had to check that out too.  My crafting has fallen a bit behind (Scholar,Weaponsmith,Farmer) and goes on my to-do list.

I also signed up for a lottery, which is a very neat concept.  Just a little meta game to do on their website.  I did not win anything on my first attempt, but they usually have one going at all times.  Almost forgot that they made Volume 1 of the epic quest solo friendly, now I can get that done too!

Not sure how long I'll play lotro, but its something to do until Rift launches and it is free!  It is also nice to play a game where there is a lot of developer activity and hope for the future.
