At WAR Again

It all started with an email.  I received an inquiry about a site related to my WAR Item DB, the Arsenal of WAR.  Turns out it was from the WAR: Return of Reckoning people which run the emulator/private server.  Well, it got me to reading about it and it actually looked like it was in a state that could be enjoyable.

I decided to give it a whirl.  I still had my WAR installation from when it shutdown ( :(  ) so it was a quick matter to get into the game.  I have to admit, I was pretty impressed.  It was very playable.  I did a few scenarios and fought in the Nordland RvR lake.  It was just like old times!

Now, the game is far from complete.  Right now, only Tier 1 is available ( CR 12, RR 20).  The PvE quests are in, as are two scenarios:  Gates of Ekrund and Nodenwatch.  It's a little buggy in places, but nothing that really took away my enjoyment.  Tier 2 is right around the corner I hear.

It's always neat when people put their minds to something and recreate something as complex as WAR.

Ziost Report Card

I finished up Ziost yesterday on my Trooper.  That includes the story missions and the daily area.  I will only do the latter once.  I did not do any of the group content.  I kind of want to, but I'm just not usually online enough to get in a group.  We'll see what happens.  I think the Operation boss might be in the Group Finder?

If I were to give Ziost a grade, it would be a:  A-.  I think that is a very good grade, as I won't give out A's easily.  BioWare did an excellent job with 3.2.  I can only hope this is an indicator of how they will do more in the future.

What kept it from an A+?

First, it could have been a little longer story wise.  Maybe one more area.

Second,  while I liked the ending, I just wish there was a little more talking about it.  It ended a bit abruptly.

Worldbreaker Monolith

One of the more interesting Stronghold decorations introduced to SWTOR recently is the Worldbreaker Monolith.  I am a big fan of the big decorations.  I have a Massive Anti-Air Turret and a Sandcrawler already.  So when I saw this guy, I had to have him.  He's a large Monolith, a force creature from Ziost.

I obtained him for 900k credits on the GTN.  You usually get him by defeating the Worldbreaker Monolith world boss on Ziost though.  When defeated, he drops two of these decorations.  I figured that the chances of me getting in a group to take him down AND winning the roll were slim.  Thankfully, BioWare made it BoE, so I could have a chance to get it.

He doesn't really fit in my current strongholds, but hopefully Yavin 4 will have a nice spot for him when released.

What I want from SWTOR

It's simple really,  I just want more.  Shadow of Revan was excellent, but short.  Ziost, so far, is really good.  However, it too is short.  I just want more SWTOR content, like Ziost, at a faster pace.  Ideally, we'd get one Ziost a month.  That would keep my constantly interested about the game, instead of just every few months.

I don't think it is likely though.  It would be very expensive to keep a team large enough to deliver that much high quality content.  I seriously doubt SWTOR brings in enough money to justify it.  Which is sad, because it would be awesome.
