Invasion

Usually on weeknights, I don't play much in the evening.  Last night I made an exception and logged in for some WAR.  I really had no agenda and just went on to see if anything was happening.  One member of my guild was putting together an Invasion (Purge) group for the Tomb of the Vulture Lord. I joined up and we were off to the Land of the Dead.

I really have not done much with the Land of the Dead yet.  Some PQ's and alt leveling pretty much sums up my experience.  I've never run the TotVL or even any lairs. Tonight's adventure would be my first purge group and my first post test server visit to the dungeon.

Unlike dungeons in the rest of the game, your group can invade an enemies instance.  Once you enter, a PQ starts with the goal of eliminating your enemies.  The same goes for Lairs in the Land of the Dead.

We helped finish up the entrance PQ and then went to invade.  We were not the only ones with the idea but we did find an instance.  Oddly enough, there was only a single DoK inside.  He was quickly dispatched and the PQ finished.  As there was only 1 enemy, we did not get enough contribution.  I did get a new tome unlock and trophy though.

Once we were finished with the purge, we came up with another plan.  Destruction was almost ready to gain control once again, so we waited in the instance for one of their purge groups.  They were taking their sweet time though and we decided just to leave and engage them outside of the instance.  Turns out they were almost finished with the PQ and we went out in a blaze of glory.

Even though the night didn't go as planned, it was still a fun time.  The Land of the Dead gets a bad rap sometimes, but it is a lot more alive than people think. Dungeon/Lair runs and purge groups are actually pretty common, I just never had the block of time to do one.

I think part of the problem is the zone is 'out of sight and out of mind.'  There are a couple ways to fix the issue.  One, a better LFG/WAR Report that lets players know what is going on down there.  Two, a Live Event in the zone would remind people it is there.
