Get Tannen

Over the weekend, I finished up the second installment of Telltale's Back to the Future: The Game.  I have previously covered the first part which I enjoyed.  BttF is an adventure game, in the tradition of Kings Quest and others like it.  Sadly, it is a genre that has really fallen out of popularity.

This episode, Get Tannen, was excellent an improvement over the first.  Don't worry, I won't spoil anything for you.   I think Telltale addressed some of the commons complaints they received with Episode 1.

I don't have any exact measurements, but this episode felt longer than the first.  I think it took me about 4 or 5 sessions to complete it.  They are just about on the money for length, hopefully the following installments follow suit.

Challenge was another issue some players had, since the first episode was pretty easy.  Get Tannen improved in this area, as I had to used the hint button a couple of times.  Once I did, it made perfect sense so the puzzles were nothing too crazy.

The story in Episode 2 was very interesting and ended on a bit of a cliffhanger.  Luckily, Episode 3 might be out this week, so I won't have to wait too long!  I still think this has been a great deal for $25 for the series, which comes down to $5 per episode.

Next month, their new series starts and is about Jurassic Park.  I'm not quite sure how they will handle this IP, but it could be fun.  I enjoyed the first movie (and book) quite a bit, so I'll probably be getting this too.
