WAR's Store and 1.4

Yesterday was a busy day as far as Warhammer Online news go.  First was the discovery of the 1.4 patch notes, which have not been officially posted yet.  Then WAR's section in the eastore went live.  What does this all mean?

First up, lets take a look at the store.  The items for sale are called Account Entitlements by BioWare Mythic.  Makes sense, since they are account bound and not character bound.

Server Transfers.  I have no plans to move any of my characters, so this is something I will hopefully never need.  This is only for single characters, not all of them on the account.

Starter Mount Pack.  This is a definite buy for me.  All of the accounts characters get a mount starting at level 2.  I have a ton of alts, so I am sure I will get my money's worth.  Dumpy Horse, here I come.  NOTE:  The vendor can be found in Empire/Chaos Chapter 1.

Trusty Mount Pack.  This gives an low-end guild mount equivalent.  In game, they only cost 20 gold, so I don't think I will be purchasing this one.  Might be a boon to those who are guildless though.

Trinkets of the World Pack.  This will allow you to purchase 2 trophies.  Another item I don't really have interest in, who goes and buys a trophy for themselves?

Specialized Training Pack.  This one is sure to be controversial.  It will give all of your characters a level up scroll (experience not renown).  It doesn't really bother me, even though I might never purchase it.  Let's be honest, killing sub 40 players is not really fun.  Please buy this, get yourself to 40 and give me more renown :)

Herald Pet Pack.  This little guy does the 'I gotta pee' dance and gives your character a 3% movement speed increase (in and out of combat).  I'll probably buy this too, just because it is account bound.  It'll work nicely on my Destro characters.

It looks like I'll end up buying two things (starter mounts and pet) from the store, totaling about $19.  I think the costs of the account bound items are reasonable.  It costs more for two movie tickets, and I'm pretty confident I will get much more out of these than I would a two hour movie.

Somebody discovered the 1.4 patch notes on the herald yesterday.  Since it has not officially been announced I'd consider this a draft copy.  There is a ton of changes, so it will take me a few days to digest.  Some of it I am happy about, some of it makes me a little worried.  More on that next week!
