24 hours to go

Well, probably a bit more than 24 hours due to patch downtime.  Close enough though!  Tomorrow is the launch of Warhammer Online's 1.4 patch and RvR Packs.  This is the biggest update since the Land of the Dead was introduced.  I'm pretty excited, but there are a few things I am especially looking forward to seeing.

Open RvR.  The new Open RvR system is a big departure from Zone Domination.  Take the opponents keep and you win the zone.  Nice and simple, while still providing some depth.  I don't think the new system is perfect, but it should be a nice change of pace.   New mechanics like this are what can help a PvP focused game stay fresh.

Matchmaking.  We found out about this late, but it looks like Mythic will be employing a matchmaking system to help make scenarios more competitive.  A lopsided match is not fun from either perspective. They have been hush hush on the details, but I can't wait to see if this improves the quality of matches.

Renown Revamp. The overhaul of the Renown Points and Abilities should add more customization decisions when building your character.   Instead of just picking stats, there are new active and passive abilities you can select.  Hopefully it will lead to a wider variety of builds being used.

Those are just a few of the features we'll see tomorrow.  If you have questions, Mythic will be holding a Q&A tonight via UStream, so stop on by.  The RvR Packs will be going on sale tomorrow at the eastore.
