June's Producer Letter

Yesterday, Bioware Mythic (yep, that's their new name) released the Producer Letter for June.  I'm not sure where June went as it feels like we just got May's letter.  This month, Carrie goes over some of what we can expect in the upcoming 1.3.6 patch.

Against all Odds.  Now this is something I'm very excited about.  In a nutshell, the more you are outnumbered in a RvR lake, the greater the amount of renown you will receive.  The upper limit will be 400% more renown.  If you manage to get some kills or take objectives while outnumbered, you will be properly rewarded.  I think this will encourage people to fight and also promote small group warfare.

Victory Points.  Locking a zone will no longer take prior tiers or PvE into account.  While it was a nice idea, not being able to lock a zone due to tier 3 was a bit frustrating at times since there was nothing you could do about it.  I'm glad to see PvE points go as well, personally I'm here to PvP.

Sovereign Armor Sets.  The highest tier armor in WAR will be revamped in the upcoming 1.3.6 patch.  This involves the introduction of new armor sets to better support different play-styles.  Players will be able to trade in current set items for the new ones.  The set bonuses are also being revamped to make them more attractive.

Mailbox Guarding.  No longer will players receive renown by afk'ing in the warcamp.  Only players who are in the lake will be rewarded.  I'm sure some players will find a way to bypass the system, but this will hopefully raise the bar a bit.

Europe.  As you may know, Mythic has taken control of the WAR Europe servers from GOA.  It isn't a merger, just a management change.  Sounds like a great change for EU players, as they will directly deal with Mythic now.

Overall, I am pretty excited about the 1.3.6 patch.  So far the Against all Odds system is the feature I am looking forward to the most.  The appearance system is also high on my list.  No word yet on when we might see 1.3.6 on the PTS.
