Days of the Dead

Fall is upon us and that means the start of MMO holiday event season.  Fallen Earth is launching their first event, Days of the Dead, just in time for Halloween.   Most holiday events are pretty lackluster to me, but I am excited about this one.

First, let's go over the big news that goes along with this event.  Multiple gaming sites will be handing out Free 15-day Trial keys!  Now you can see what all of the Fallen Earth talk is about for yourself.  I hope they also go the route of giving their subscribers trial keys to hand out to friends.

The event itself has a simple premise, Kill Zombies.  You pick up zombie killing missions and go to work.  Once you kill 100 of them, you can get yourself a special zombie killing weapon.  You have the choice of a signature shotgun, a sawed-off shotgun or a cricket bat.  Hmm, one of these is not like the others.

Now, I'm sure smashing zombies with a cricket bat is fun and all, but it seems a bit out of place.  How many cricket players live around the Grand Canyon? Perhaps our FE players in Europe will enjoy it.   I'm going to be going with a shotgun.  This is an event reward I must have.

And we can't forget about the "Pumpkin of Extraordinary Merit."  This fine vegetable provides you with a stat buff... and it is a pumpkin.  That is the important part.  I can't help but think of the Great Pumpkin from the Peanuts cartoon.  Did I mention you can make scarecrows?

If you have been curious about Fallen Earth be sure to keep your eyes out for the trial keys.  A list can be found here.  Those of you who currently play, hands off my pumpkins!
