Dead Rising 3 Impressions

My Xbox One arrived on Friday.  I don't have too much to say about it yet... it's a video game console.  I got it for the games, so that's where most of my interest is.  I had to get a game to go along with it, so I chose Dead Rising 3.  It seemed the most appealing out of the 20 or so launch games.  I actually felt like the lineup was pretty weak.  There were no must have games for me.

Lots of Zombies.  Dead Rising 3 sure piles on the zombies.  It's hard to describe just how many they manage to draw on the screen at one time.  It is really pretty cool, especially when driving through them all.

Graphics.  The graphics are decent, but as I mentioned above, I think they went for zombie count over graphics.  It's a tradeoff, one that I think went in their favor.

Weapons.  There are loads of weapons you can use against the zombie hoard. They range from an Assault Rifle to a box of shampoo.  The nice thing is, weapons lockers have every weapon you have ever used.  So it is easy to use them again rather than waiting to find one laying around.

There looks to be a lot of combo weapons you can make, although I'm not a big fan of them.  I have a hard enough time just keeping track of all the zombies to try and gather the correct components.  The plus side is they are also available in the weapons locker once you create one.

I've only put a few hours into the game so far (so much to play!) but it is good old fashioned fun.  There is something addictive about watching your zombie kill count increase, especially when lobbing grenades into packs of them.
